A teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo has backed him to keep up red-hot goalscoring streak while highlighting the superstar’s qualities.
Juventus cruised past Ferencvaros in Thursday’s Champions League clash, recording a resounding 4-1 victory over the Hungarian outfit.
Cristiano Ronaldo, surprisingly, was nowhere to be found on the scoresheet. However, he did have a hand in one of the goals as he set up Alvaro Morata’s second goal of the night.
The Portuguese forward, who only recently returned after recovering from COVID-19, is yet to open his goalscoring account in the current edition of the Champions League.
The former Real Madrid man did not have a good match by his standards but Morata only had kind words for him after the match.
“I don’t need to tell you what Ronaldo represents and what he brings to the team. He’s a great teammate, he talks to everyone, helps everyone, and is our most important player,” Morata told reporters, as per Football Italia.
“We all hope he can continue scoring and take us to the level he has envisaged in his mind.”
Morata has now scored six goals in seven games across all competitions so far for this term after switching to Juve from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.
He added: “I said when I came back here that I felt like a more complete player and I matured as a person by going through the good and bad in my career.
“I can still improve and I believe we’ll continue to grow together and go far.”
